The Hopper Earthworks story began long before we officially opened our doors a few years ago. With Brett having over two decades of hands-on experience in the industry, we decided it was time to carve a niche in Mangawhai, a place we proudly call home. Every project we undertake is backed by 20+ years of expertise, ensuring precision, dedication, and superior results.
Keeping things ticking behind the scenes is Kelly, an integral part of our venture. She is a chartered accountant and takes care of the administration and accounts side of the business. Together with Brett’s field expertise, we make a dynamic duo in delivering top-notch services.
Together, we have built Hopper Earthworks on a foundation of trust, quality, and a deep-rooted passion for what we do. Being a locally owned and operated business, we understand the needs of our local communities and go above and beyond to cater to them.

Areas we serve

Frequently Asked Questions
5.5 tonne excavator (digger): Hitachi Zaxis. This machine is 2m wide. It has a range of attachments:
- 1,500mm weed bucket
- 600mm rock bucket
- 300mm trenching bucket
- Ripper
1.7 tonne excavator (digger): Case CS17C. This machine is 900mm wide (and can extend to 1,300mm wide) so great for those tight spaces. It comes on a trailer for easy transportation, and it also has a range of attachments:
- 900mm weed bucket
- 450mm rock bucket
- 300mm trench bucket
- Hitch plate (to attach augers and other specialised equipment)
Husqvana K770 concrete saw. This has a 125mm cut depth.
In addition to the above, we also have the other smaller but necessary equipment to get the job done such as precision laser levels.
Brett and Kelly started Hopper Earthworks in December 2020. Brett has over 20 years of hands-on experience in the earthmoving industry. Kelly is a chartered accountant and looks after the administrative side of the business.
Yes, we do. We have Public Liability insurance and Commercial Motor insurance which covers our machinery and equipment too. Insurance certificates can be provided upon request.
